rt, it's the best bloody epic since Lawrence of Arabia, and
deserves every award for which it was nominated, and a few for which it was
not.  It was entertainment (full nutritional value) which also stirred the
soul, and not meant as a history text, or it would have been called a
documentary.  If it did inspire some to read the historical accounts, then it
did double duty.
 
What I would really like to see is the hour they cut out of it just before
release because the theatre owners could get in more showings daily if it
were cut.
