Hi there,

The South African Police Services use their UHF radio frequency as the pipe
for thier in-vehicle on-line service. It transmits - at around 1,200 baud -
GPS-linked tracking information to the control centre as well as recieving
electronic instructions from the CC. They can aslo do on-line checking of
stolen vehicle details, suspect info etc etc.

The system was installed by Unidata in Johannesburg and by all accounts, is
very succesful.

Hope this helps.
