Yes Nick,

Stewart established the Whole Earth Catalogue - the platform for the  
counter-culture of the sixties and seventies. He is also involved in  
the current controversy about conventional and alternative sources of  
energy. He was in a recent televised debate when he was lambasted for  
apparently having shifted towards an acceptance that nuclear power  
generation has to be an intrinsic part of any solution, wehereas he  
has been understood up to now as anti-nuclear.
