Introduction to freshwater macroalgae (non-residential)


A two day course on how to recognise the larger freshwater algae. Field and laboratory-based exercises will introduce participants to the biology and identification of those freshwater algae most likely to be encountered during freshwater surveys. The course will be based at the Freshwater Biological Association (FBA), Windermere, ideally located for field visits to a range of freshwater habitats. Tutors: Dr Martyn Kelly and Dr Allan Pentecost with support from FBA staff and Honorary Research Fellows.
