Ebenezer makes some good points, but I believe that the list owners can set
parameters or add a filter to catch the (or most) out-of-office replies. This
is a problem that is not new, of course, and perhaps others on the list have
more details on the technical solutions.

Another matter that others may have noticed in posting to Afrik-IT is that one
receives a posting-rejected message every time one sends a message to the list.
 The reason given is that the message has already been posted - probably
because Afrik-IT's address is on its own subscription list? If that assumption
is correct, the list owners could be easily remedy this too.
