A12N-Collaboration is a new short-term working group for collaboration on
certain technical aspects of use of African languages in IT. Its purposes are
to:
1) facilitate communication among individuals working on codepages for scripts
of African languages;
2) promote collaboration on other projects on technical aspects of use of
extended Latin-based character sets and non-Western scripts on computers and
the internet; and
3) contribute to laying the groundwork for a separate, broader-topic, and open-
archive list(s) on African languages and ICT.

For more information see:
http://lists.kabissa.org/mailman/listinfo/a12n-collaboration
and/or contact me (address below).

Also FYI, current plans are to close the "Hausa charsets & keyboards" message
board http://www.quicktopic.com/8/H/JxKHyg9ccPUVB in favor of the
above, "Unicode-Afrique" (for Francophones), and Hausa-L (for language-specific
topics) - a list that I have learned will be making a transition of its own
soon.
