D'fhiafraigh Seán Ó Conchúir: Cad is brí leis an bhfocal "timeanna"?

I gConamara, ciallaíonn sé (1) n. cóisir nó siamsa i dteach príobháideach
go hiondúil, ach d'fhéadfadh sé a bheith i dteach ósta, m. sh. -- i dteach
timeanna. Time Mheiriocá, an American wake. Cá raibh an time aréir? 'Raibh
an-time agaibh aréir?

(2) aid. Teach / Fear timiúil, teach mór siamsaíochta/ fear spraoiúil.

(3) br. Humour. B'éigean dúinn é timeáil, we had to humour him. Bhí sé
timeáilte go maith.

Fuaimnítear an chéad chuid de mar an focal Béarla, time, (agus, ar ndóigh,
is focal Bearla é) agus an chuid eile de réir chóras na Gaeilge.

Beir bua,

Séamas ó Scolaí.
