this I got from a recent post to one of my medical lists:
> During a recent hospital "Y2K" meeting it was mentioned that the
> Western Hemisphere, by watching what happens in New Zealand and
> Australia, will have a 12-18 hour lead-time preparing for unexpected
> problems on Jan 1, 00.
So, what about something like this?
Put up two mailing lists, one running on a NZ/AU box and the other
one in California. The only subscribers should be three perl
robots each, one in NZ/AU the other in CA and one on the box where
the list is running on. Hack a couple of Perl robots, one in
NZ/AU, the other in CA to fire off messages every minute to the
mailing lists. The receiving robots update in some form or other
or even in several forms two Web sites, one in NZ/AU and one in CA.
We can start connecting to those Web Sites a few hours before NZ's Y2
and see what happens...
