The translation process from FFF to XML would almost of necessity require a
custom tool, given the permutations available to both formats. It would be
very difficult to apply general conversion rules, considering that Folio's
mark-up differs significantly from what's allowable in XML.

LivePublish, Folio's latest product, uses XML and XSL in the InfoBase
creation process, and the new format encapsulates XML, HTML, Word and
several other file formats internally. In other words, XML documents can be
stored intact within InfoBases and served up over the web as text/xml.

That being said, there are a number of quirks and bugs in the initial
release of LivePublish. Folio informs us that they'll be issuing a 5.1
version release in June of this year. I'd recommend waiting at least till
then before using it in production.

Has anyone converted a Folio flat file to XML? Any tool out there yet
for this?
