Lorna, I don't think the choice of fingers makes an enormous amount of
difference--although Caoimhin's post I think was arguing it did for the
cran--as long as you use the right motion (touching by coming across the
string, as opposed to going down to the string).
And yes, I did forget to mention in my little survey that Kevin Burke does
some rolls with two bow strokes--they sound very much like accordion rolls
then, and his playing matches that of Jackie Daly very well when they play
