Yikes! You may have uncovered a hypocritical stance of mine. I must admit
that I have always held out multiculturalism as an enlightened thing.
Australia has a good record on immigration (at least until this govt.), and
I appreciate the ethnic festivals/food/culture/areas etc. However, the same
situation (here!) in Wales would appall me. I only want to see one dominant
culture in Wales - Welsh. I wonder if this is a hypocritical, selfish
motive, or a motive borne from justifiable protectionism (based on the size
of the country and the fragile nature of the language).
