I'm wondering if the group can come up with examples of superstitions
among the Old Irish/Celts?
I'm not thinking so much of the individual geis [such as: Thou
shalt not go right-handwise round Tara and left-handwise round
... or of what might be called a 'group curse' [such as a given
group of warriors periodically suffering the pangs of childbirth],
... or even specific taboos [such as Caesar's claim in the GALLIC
WARS that the goose was taboo as food for the Britons and Celts,
being a sacred bird],
but examples of the superstitions which engaged the people of
that day... something along the lines of today's: walking under
ladders, black cats, broken mirrors, knock on (touch) wood, three
on a match, etc.
