I grew up on a ranch on the edge of the El Dorado National Forest in the
Sierra Nevada Mountains of Northern California. It was a setting of
relatively undisturbed lush, thick pine forests replete with all sorts of
wildlife. It also had four seasons, and some of the heaviest snowfalls on
earth every year.
I am where I am at now because it is the only place left where the US DOD
experiments and tests large numbers of weapons. There are four
installations where they are stored, tested, repaired and trained upon. I
am considered one of the world's foremost experts in some esoteric areas
of such weapon systems. As a result, I either work here, retire or find a
new career path. I have been searching in vain for somewhere I could
wedge myself into, but thus far no one wants to let me cross over.
