>I did'nt get any answere and I think there is something wrong with the sever?.
Sometimes, "no answer" means "nobody knows".
I got your message first time, and I was hoping for an answer too.
This is a tune we play a lot, but I've never learned a title for it.
As Rick Gagne pointed out, it resembles "The Mountain Road"
at the start. In fact, if I remember correctly, on the Andy McGann
and Paddy Reynolds album they play "The Mountain Road" with
a variation in the 3rd bar which is the same as the 3rd bar of your
tune. But they are still two separate tunes.
But keep hoping - I asked about "Big John McNeil's Reel" months
ago and got no response; this week there's lots of information about
>Dublin Porter is the second one. But I would like the ABC from the second
>well, if somebody has the ABC from that tune.
I can do that, anyway. Here's how we play it - Frankie Gavin's
version is *probably* more complex... The tune is also in CRE III,
no. 155, and in Matt Cranitch's "Irish Fiddle Book", p. 89.
