Lots of love lavished on Abell whistles here, by valuable list members,
most of them American:
--"I love it"
--"I think they are fantastic"
--"absolutely love the thing"
--"extremely fond of it"
--"I havn't tried any that I think is better"
--"I also give an Abell to my students"
Which makes me cranky, because I don't like Abells, or Thin Weasels, or
any of the wishy washy woody whistles with a poot poot tone. I don't like
playing them myself and I'm not crazy about them in others' hands, either.
When I hear a good musician playing one of these flammable toys I think,
"too bad they couldn't afford a Generation, or at least a Copeland."
Many whistle players disagree with me; they can get help at
But all the best--
