There is a good session on friday nights at an Chistin, in Carraroe, Co.
Galway. Its been a couple of years since I have been there, so you might
wanna call ahead and make sure it is still going. Carraroe is about 30
miles west (down the cost) from Galway city. A great place all together,
and a great pub. Johnny Connelly (melodian) and his 2 children (fiddle
and accordian) are regulars, plus usually a few others. Real friendly
place, locals will dance, sing occaisionaly. Also, Thomas MacEoin, a
great singer and maker of the famous song 'An Caili/n Alainn' fequents the
place. Several other sean-no/s singers from around Conamara sometimes are
about as well. Carraroe is in the Gaeltacht, and you will hear mostly
Irish spoken in an Chistin. ;-)
