On an album from the 70s a fiddler who, as I recall, was living in London
recorded the Hitler's Downfall. I can't think of his name, and can't get to
my LPs at the moment. The notes to the album said something about the
Hitler name being applied during that war, and I seem to recall that it was
Michael Gorman who was credited. There is also a connection with Winnie
Green's Favorite, so called in Cole's 1,000.
To help identify the fiddler, he played in the Sligo style, was technically
proficient, and had a strange sense of intonation.
