I whipped this from the Telkom site, I think Africa 2 you refer to is SAT-3,
is a Telkom SA project which has helped pretty much eclipse AfricaOne along
with SAT 2, SAFE and FLAG. Africa One has been offloaded to Tyco
Submarine systems, who when I asked them, didn't have anything to say about
the project. RIP Africa One?
"The formal development of the SAT-3/WASC cable project was initiated in
May 1997, and the key role-players in this project are Angola Telecom; OPT
Benin; Cote D'Ivoire Telecom; Ghana Telecom, Intelcam (Cameroon); OPT
Gabon; Libtelco (Liberia); Sonatel (Senegal), Sonitel (Niger), Telkom SA
(South Africa) & Togo Telecom"
