There were two seperate failures of one or more of the three E1 lines from HEAnet, Dublin
to MCI, West Orange.
Three lines were down from approx. 19:12 UTC+1 lasnight until approx 19:51 UTC+1.
The second outage was of two of the three lines, MCI E1-2 and E1-3 from
approx. 02:12:34 UTC+1 until 02:12:54 UTC+1
First outage affected all connectivity to MCI.
Connectivity remained in second outage as MCI E1-1 remained up.
Incidents have been reported to MCI.
19981007 15:50 MCI (now Cable+Wireless) respond confirming that they
had problems with their BC30 router (which connects HEAnet) and
that they will schedule a further outage to fix. No confirmed
time/date yet. C+W third-level engineers are monitoring the
router for stability.
