Power transition in Marine House caused all routers and ancillary
systems to restart.
All access and external circuits down for 4 minutes. Trans-Atlantic
circuit down for 70 minutes.
Compounded by hardware problems on interface connecting these lines:
DCU, DIAS, UCD.
Suitable image for Kinnegad was loaded manually, to restore
trans-Atlantic connectivity. Other routers being monitored
and circuits being checked individually.
Sat 14:41 - DCU, DIAS and UCD were switched to spare interfaces
earlier today. Following replacement interface from Lancomms,
DCU and DIAS have been switched back; UCD will be returned early
Monday. Other circuits affected for approx 30 seconds by this
switch were ITnet, DIT, NUI and RCSI.
Heuston has been removed from service and replaced by Andel;
this was brought forward to today as the fastest way to avoid
further outages & problems with Heuston's current IOS version.
Time to Fix:
Continuing to monitor. All going well, this ticket will be closed
on Monday morning.
