A friend pointed out that the Electronic Frontier Foundation has
registered objections to the new Internet by-laws. Visit
Their objections do not appear to me to have any significant impact
on African representation in Internet management.
For me the most interesting consideration has to do with domain name
administration at national levels, and the "assignment" of national
top level domain responsibility -- the Zimbabwe and Congo (DRC)
cases are of recent interest. The new management structure of the
Internet will presumably have some say over such matters, one reason
for interest in having African representation.
