Considering your e-mail handle, <[log in to unmask]>,
if you're in County Clare, you should definitely try to get to
Gary Pepper's pub in Feakle. Unfortunately, the train won't take
you there; Limerick is the nearest train station, but there may be
a bus. Pepper's is a great music house; I'm not sure what may
be hapening there in October, though.
One idea would be to get a train from Dublin to Galway, check out
the music scene there, then if you can tear yourself away, take a
bus in the direction of Limerick - this will take you south through
County Clare. If you talk nicely to someone in Galway, they'll
advise you where to hop off the bus in Clare. Finally you can
get a train from Limerick back to Dublin.
Of course, you'll miss Kerry completely with that itinerary, but
your time is short. Have a good trip.
