Some of you who are interested in traditional singing and the history of songs
in Ireland have already commented on the wonderful job that Dubliner Frank
Harte did at the Washington DC Irish Fest this past weekend.
A reminder that Frank will make his way up to the New York area this coming
weekend for a rare appearance and if you are nearby you have three public
appearances to try and make plus you can hear him on A THOUSAND WELCOMES on
WFUV (90.7 fm) on Saturday morning in an interview with Kathleen Biggins.
Frank will be at:
Blarney Star, Friday, Sept. 11 for two sets at 9 and 10 :30 pm in lower
Irish Arts Center, Saturday afternoon 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm for a song and
singing workshop sponsored by Rince Ceol Committee. IAC is located at 553
West 51 St. between 10th and 11th Avenues in Midtown and phone is 212-757-3318
Same place at 7:30 PM for a lecture with song on 1798: The First Year of
Liberty which is the title name of his new CD commemorating the songs and the
anniversary of that famous year in Irish history.
Even if you aren't a singer or usually interesting in Irish songs you will
learn something and enjoy a marvelous character at the same time and talk
about great value for the money....
