4) The Scots' "baodh" seems to inhabit the realm of insult, which
could follow from 'crow", I suppose, but I wondered if there were
any links at all to any deity which might have influenced such an
evolution? With the exception of 'scold', the Gaeilge doesn't
seem to exhibit such negative connotations.
