Hope it's OK to post recruitment ads here! Please pass this on as seems
appropriate. There will likely be future vacancies for this project.

--------------------------------------
Recruitment for Oxfam/Novib IT Project
Oxfam and Novib joint software.

Oxfam GB and Novib are international aid charities working from the UK and
The Netherlands respectively. They are two key members of "Oxfam
International", which is a group of 8 similar organisations from around the
world. They are working to harmonise parts of their aid programmes and
associated systems. As part of this process, Oxfam GB and Novib are
building new software systems to support their aid operations.

The first modules of the system have been designed and are being built by
an outside supplier. They will be going live within Novib, and will be
piloted in Oxfam for January 1st 1999. Novib and Oxfam are recruiting a
team of expert developers to take forward the configuration, design and
ongoing development of the system.

The system is based on a three tier intranet architecture to a SQLserver
database. It will interface to an accounts system and will be required to
operate on-line over slow communication links, and off-line. The
architecture is based on Microsoft intranet technologies and SQLserver.

The team will work with the Project Manager, team staff in Oxfam and Novib,
and key users to ensure the project is able to produce well designed, high
quality software to tight deadlines and in compliance with Oxfam and Novib
standards. They will be based within the International Division at Oxfam,
Oxford, UK, but will travel frequently to Novib, and work there for
extended periods.

Salary: 22,178 - 25,393 (under review).
