I was thinking about much earlier. I have not really studied the Picts and
do not know the dates of the centaurs or how they may have derived from
earlier symbols? When did horses reach Albion?

These coins are very well studies (Simone Scheers is the author to look
for, many papers and books by her-- most in French so it takes me a long
time to find anything specific). Most of the man headed horses date from
about 100 BCE. The British centaurs to just before the Claudian invasions.
If you'd like more specifics I can look them up. If you'd like I can put
some pictures up on my web site.
