I was interested to see that Microsoft have at last come up with
some Y2k statements.
The good news is apparently at http://www.microsoft.com/year2000/
I say apparently, because as a Netscape user, I am unable
to see the page. Once again, disgusting little browser
"sniffers" are embedded into the HTML.
They must think we are totally stupid and unaware.
Essentially what happens is that they have "hidden" code
(Javascript incidentally) which tests for anything other than
Msie4 and then at random disconnect the socket.
They even have the gall to comment their nasty little
code fragments "hide info from old browsers".
If the US Justice department would go after Microsoft for their
real sins of commission rather than on specious "bundling" or
"unbundling" issues, justice would be better served.
