Greetings,

I am conducting a survey on the use and deployment of local area network
(LAN) technology throughout Africa.  I would be grateful if you can
offer any general or specific information (including your own experiences).

At a minimum please address the following if you can:

1.  What are the Internet Service Providers' (ISPs') role in installing LANs?

2.  What are the ISPs' role in administering LANs?

3.  If a large company or small & medium-sized enterprise (SME) desires to
install a LAN, what process do they go through to get one implemented at their
site?

4.  Who would typically administer/support the LAN within an organization?
Would it be performed by an in-house team or contracted out?

5.  Is LAN technology being used as a transport to gain access to the
Internet?
That is, have you seen places where an employee can access the Internet (Web
and email for starters) from the desks using a LAN?

6.  Are there any studies/periodicals on this subject you can refer me to?

I expect that each response will differ.
