Joe, and all the rest of us frostbacks:
The following popped up in the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation "HotSheet"
for today, Tuesday, 28 Jan.:
13. HOT TYPE:
CBC Newsworld kicks off a new half-hour show on print culture tonight.
Hot Type promises to be provocative, edgy, intelligent, humorous - and
even sexy! Hosted by Evan Solomon, Hot Type explores the ideas found
in the multi-faceted world of print - from books, newspapers and
magazines to 'zines, song lyrics, internet chat rooms and beyond. It
will include field interviews with cutting-edge writers; and an
in-studio panel discussion with an eclectic mix of smart, articulate
people who bring passion and a critical perspective to current issues,
recent articles and books, or controversial ideas in print culture.
Quick snap shots of rising new talent are also part of the mix. Be
there from the start for Hot Type, debuting tonight at
8:30 p.m. (EASTERN) on CBC Newsworld.
This is the first I've heard of the program, so I can't tell if this is
more about content than actual type and design, but I suspect the former.
It might be worth a look, though.
