I have had a query from a colleague- please reply to Manuela Martino
directly at [log in to unmask]

She has read that that phytoplankton blooms occur in the low salinity
end of a rapidly flushed (one or two tidal cycles) estuary. Do the
blooms grow within this short time scale - or do the plankton have a
mechanism for staying in the low salinity part of the estuary?
