The issues seem related to those of domain name kidnapping, though
different. The missing detail above is that another company, PG
Media, wants the right to assign (and collect money for) domain
names, and has asked the US Justice Department to investigate
Network Solution's apparent refusal to let them do it. The PG
Media site can be visited at
The article in the NY Times says PG Media wants to force Network
Solutions to register in the DNS any domain names that PG Media
creates. I'm not sure what the implications would be for a domain
name like ".zr".
