At the last Highland Games I went to, the competition was a nice size but
not huge and overflowing, like the Irish.
If your child is interested in dance, I would certainly take a look at
Scottish dance, it is much less crowded. The Irish dance has grown so fast,
that the teachers are absolutely swamped, classes are bulging at the seams.

here are all deluged with students!
In contrast, I talked to a teacher in Northern Ireland who said the teachers
there are not swamped like they are here, there are more teachers over there
and fewer students.
