We went to a Highland Games recently, and watched the Scottish Highland
Dancing for quite awhile.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Scottish dance seems to be quite a bit
easier than the Irish step dance. That is, it looks like the children's
steps in the Scottish dance are much easier.
My kids, Irish dancers, came home and claimed to be able to do some of the
Scottish dance just from watching the kids.
Especially at the younger ages, say 5 and 6 years old, it seems to me that
the Irish dancers have much more intricate steps. And at the older levels,
the hard shoe dances of the Irish dancers seem much more difficult.
Any Scots out there who want to take issue with this?
Also, I am still looking for information on Cornish dancing. Help, please,
the Cornish Cousins out here in California would like to engage a Cornish
dance troupe, and will pay them, to perform at their annual gathering.
