regional Comhaltas heirarchy. They can give you the specifics for starting a
branch in your area. Paul Keating can give you a name to contact.>>
Trish - I love your enthusiasm and it sounds like you are a great organizer.
However I do have to say that myself nor my heritage and especially the Irish
music I have played all my life are under the auspices of anyone or any
thing, and particularly not he auspices of a "hierarchy of Comhaltas".
I belong to Comhaltas - pay my yearly dues - I was a member when it first
started in NY and we had sessions on 48th ST. - when it was expressly for
Traditional Irish Musicians.
I am not under anyone's auspices, I never have been and please God, I never
will - nor is Irish Music under anyone's auspices - it never was and never
will be IMHO.
I think we can stand tall and hold our heads high on our own accomplishments
without having a "hierarchy" to thank. Again IMHO.
Sorry Trish this is my feeling - others may have feel ldifferently and I
probably will get flamed but so be it.
Keep playing the music;
