Irish Gaelic (or Irish) was the most widely spoken language in Ireland until
about C17 when English took over after Cromwells time. Since English in the
same time was known as 'old English' then old Irish was probably aroung the
same period. All languages evolve, although Irish has not evolved that much.
So... um.... it probably is...
