<<Maqqi, naively, I must ask, who is the alternative? The Labour candidate?>>
I would, despite a strongly left of centre political opinion, that England's
Labour party are a bad choice when considering nationalist issues within the UK.
Remember who sent in the troops to NI originally? And, they've lied again and
again over the years regarding their future policies & actions 'when we get into
power' regarding Scotland, NI & Wales. Looks very much like Tony Blair is just
another Englishman following that ignoble tradition...
as for who to vote for...
In England? I think probably the Liberal Democrats
In Scotland, the SNP, and Wales the Blaid.
As for NI, well, it was suggested recently that the Monster Raving Loony Party's
policies (you can imagine, based on their name, yeah?) are made look sane by the
carry-on by many of the NI parties, so a MRL vote there might be in order... but
I would suggest that the SDLP & Alliance parties provide the best possibilities.
I suppose it's too much to suggest that the Cornish electorate vote for their
Mebyon Kernow candidates (as opposed to their usual Lib. Dem. choice)
