Some clarification needed. We can buy 'canned' (blechhhh) G. for
about the same or slightly more. The price of *draught* G.in the pub
is about $3.30. Draught G. is a totally different drink and no self
respecting Guinness drinker would be caught dead with a bottle or
can, except on Christmas day and Good Friday, when the pubs are
closed and nobody can see him/her drinking it.
It's important to know, too, that most of the cost of alcoholic drink
in Ireland goes to the Government in the form of excise and tax. I'm
not sure of the figure but I think it's over 80 percent.
Go back to your 'bottled' Guinness!!!
I'm going for a REAL pint!
