Ladies, Gentlemen, and Fellow Peasants,
As a service to the members of this list and the rest of posterity I would
like to propose the following:
I would like to compile a listing of ALL media that the members of the
list are aware of pertaining to the learning of a Gaelic language, to
include texts, publications, websites, listservs, periodicals,
audio/visual sources, dictionaries, immersion programs or whatever else is
I'd ask that you e-mail myself with the info, so as not to clog the list,
I'll compile and sort it and send it to the list and if Ray is willing, he
could put it on the website for all to freely access.
Here's the format I would like:
*Source Information (bibliographic info if it is a publication--please
include ISBN--for websites/AV/programs, tell me who puts the thing
*Availibility (is it only availible in your country?)
*A three line commentary which gives a brief description/evaluation
Learning Irish by Mi/chaea/l O/ Siadhail
New Haven, CT: Yale University Press, 1995 (3rd edition)
Availibility: To my knowledge, US and UK
A standard textbook, however it helps to have a good grasp of English
grammar and grammatical terms for usage. Pronunciation and grammar based
on the Irish of Galway.
I would like to have everything in over the next two weeks, so I will
include anything sent to me by 23 April.
I look forward to hearing from you all!
