No offense taken. I have always tried to be "Live & Let Live" about
religion, as I believe all paths lead eventually to the same place. I have
friends among many different Christian and Pagan sects (and I'm not sure
which of the two of them have more) as well as of both the Jewish and
Buddhist faiths. Can't say I know any Moslems right now, or Hindus, but a
few agnostics, including my stepson, and I'm pretty sure I don't know any
athiests well enough to know that they are atheists.
I believe in people on a one-to-one basis. If a person is a good person, it
doesn't matter to me what his or her religion or lack of it may be, or the
colour of his or her skin, or what his or her heritage may be.
I am no missionary, believe me. If a person is inerested in finding out
about my path and is sincere about it, I will walk down it for awhile with
that person and show him or her what it is all about. If a person asks
questions only to gather ammunition for ridicule I will walk away. That is
all. Quiet retreat is sometimes more effective and defends better than noisy
counter-attack (one thing I learned from fencing).
Most of us just want to be left alone to worship in the ways we find
meaningful, no matter who we are.
