Web fundraising drive for the Nelson Mandela Children's Fund
===========================================================
>From Bruce Cohen
Greetings
I have been contracted by the Nelson Mandela Children's Fund, the only
charitable organisation entitled to carry the Mandela name (he is the
chairperson and donates a third of his salry to the fund), to develop an
InterNet fundraising drive planned for March.
The fund, as you can imagine, is scrupulously managed, fully transparent in
its operations, and under rigid audit control.
The drive will consist of the following:
1.An appeal for a minimum donation of US$25 which will entitle the donor to:
1. Immediately download a Mandela Children's Fund screensaver that includes
a "signed" thank you message from the President.
2. Entry into a competition, with the main prize being an expenses paid one
week holiday at one of South Africa's most luxurious private game parks.
There will be several smaller prizes as well.
In order to generate maximum Net awareness of this drive, I am hoping that
some of you who have Web sites will consider running a banner ad for the
campaign sites for a limited period.
In return we will acknowledge your support on the Mandela Children's Fund
Web site (including a link back to your site) and share with you the results
of the campaign in terms of its efficacy as a tactical Web-marketing
strategy. (I know that's not a helluva lot)
If you can assist or have any ideas, please write directly back to me at

Thanks for your time
