During this year's German Rock / Pop Competition - organized
by the DRMV (organisation for popular music in Germany) -
the sensation happened:
25-year-old Nils Nolte from Trebur near Frankfurt won the
"Rock-Oscar" prize as the "best solo intrumentalist".
His instruments: tin whistle, low whistle and a wooden,
keyless flute made by Chris Wilkes!!!
Perhaps the first time that a "traditional Irish musician"
won that famous award.
On Wed 25th Nolte will have a gig at the "Rind" nearby
Frankfurt with both of his bands (folk band "Hibernians"
and Indie band "Silly Con. Cirus").
Just a few hours later he'll fly over to Ireland to join
this year's "Frankie Kennedy Winter School" in Dunlewey,
