I really look forward to hearing the answer to this query. During a clan
meeting (a decade ago) at the Highland Games at Grandfather Mountain, North
Carolina, I was informed that the the Bairds were referred to as the Black
Scots b/c of a Moorish gene which has been predominate enough to survive to
this day. Typically, Bairds/Beards have black hair, brown eyes and swarthy
complexions. (At least, here in the USA). When one looked around the tent
where we were gathered, it was rather uncanny at how many of the group fit
(I don't -- auburn hair, green eyes).
I would really appreciate being enlightened on this.
(After the "names" discussion, think I'll start using "A/ine" -- My full
name is Kathryn Ann -- could someone help me out with "Kathryn?"
