I'm not known for being lyrical, but while out battling with the crowds to
get the only Buzz Lightyear in 2000 miles, I saw a beautiful brooch with a
runic inscription. the jeweller (said the blurb) took the idea from Maeshowe;
a stone age tomb on the Orkneys from 3000 BC.
What inspired the runes wasn't the chamber itself - but the graffiti carved
into it by grave robbing Vikings. the inscription apparently reads
'Reflecting times past and present'. Isn't that cool? A good motto for this
list, I feel.
Not being a linguist, the brooch might well say 'Orkney Cheddar. Once opened
keep in fridge'. But it's a nice thought, anyway!
Happy christmas people. Hope it all goes well, and may you all get the Buzz
Lightyears you hoped for!
