Here in New Zealand we are the future, according to your thoughts. Working
longer hours, evenings and weekends, yes even public holidays, is quite
common now. The emplyer is getting more for less and the base line for what
is normal output is shifting ever upwards. I was at work on Sat and Sun and
a dozen others were also here at the same time. In this world of deadlines
and profit and job security there appears to be no other way. This is my
interpretation others may see it differently. The upside is tha smug feeling
of being on top of the work as others struggle within the confines of
I'm thinking of cornering the market in midnight oil which will become a
scarce commodity in the near future.
