Hi there,

In shallow, eutrophic lakes and lowland rivers at around this time of the
year
bottom sediments often rise to the water surface bound up in a loose matrix
of filamentous algae.
Does anyone know anything about the mechanism behind this phenomenon or of
any referneces which talk about this process. Any ideas and help will be
very
much appreciated.

Carl.
