But those are both American style manuals and Americans are not the only
people in the world with a widespread use of English.
I have actually seen "Rev'd." in use in the states though...
My high school, which was affiliated with an Episcopal church, used
"Rev'd." and "Rev." interchangeably when I was there. (As I stated in a
private reply to the original message.)
