Forgive me Michael, but this sentiment:
>You are a unique and wonderful combination,
>and as such, have no need to question your own motives if you are feeling
>particularly welsh today, and scots tomorrow. It's you, and that, in itself,
>is a very good thing.
is kinda unsatifying, except to the Ego, and is no answer. It ignores and
denies feelings that are not so very good and fails to provide a way to
"deal" with them except to split by being welsh today and scots tomorrow.
I want to acknowlege the pain of my ancestors -- who frequently struggled
to erradicate each other and make it all meaningful in some way. It's not
just about harps and poetry, in other words. If you doubt what I mean,
take a look at IRL-discussion and think for a moment of N. Ireland where
two groups of Celts are still struggling with one another and Britain. What
is happening there is not a very good thing, yet it happens inside my
psyche and that of others as well.
I've tried the above approach, and it doesn't help, alas or rather ochon!
