that as much as we learn from the outside world around us we still have
familial traditions and culture within us we have taken on for
family folklore, cultural heritage which no amount of being thrown into a
melting pot is going to erradicate, nor should it...... etc."
This is nicely stated and provocative. I would very much like to use it
as a discussion-starter in one of my classes, where this week's topic
ranges around issues of individual concepts of self and the extent to
which association with nation/community affects the formation of
self-concept. May I quote you?
