Does anyone really believe the President of the U.S. has enough power by
himself to effectively change a nation?  Congress has effectively checked and
balance bloody near everything any attempt by any President to make big
changes in the way the nation has been run for years.  What makes you thing
it won't be the same story again.  Even the warmaking powers of the President
have been severely curtailed since the 60's.
 
Do not count on Presidential and Congressonal party affiliations to tip the
scales either.  We are for the most part a nation divided enough politically
to make this imbalance our sole stability.
