I'm new to the list, but thought I couldn't hold out from responding
to the lack of a more accurate (for those of us who believe, more true)
portrayal of Arthur & the legend...

I totally agree. One of my growing thoughts is that Lancelot & Gawain are
cut from one original character, & that Lancelot came into being in order to
show a more romantic character, as needed in the time that Sir Mallory wrote.

I read everything Arthurian I can get my hands on, & can't believe they
haven't made a movie or a fictional novel (if someone has, please tell me)
that covers a more truthful/historic Arthur. Or even one on the Mabinogian!
